SSTV (Slow Scan Tele Vision)

 

What is sstv well it is basicly sending pictures, most people use the pc for making/decoding the signal and most of them use a soundcard.

There are lots of different sstv programs written and I tried alot of them, but I always go back to Chroma pix.

 

To recieve/send sstv you need a modem, a verry simple modem witch costs almost nothing.

It is called a VOX modem (Voice Operated X-mitter).

For extra protection you can use two transformers (60 ohm) 1:1 between the line in and line out of your soundcard.

For laptop users there is even a vox witch does not need 12V supply.

Someone asked me how big this modem is well here is a picture, the 50K Ohm potentiometer is in de case but thats a small one too so the modem is verry small (and I didn't even use SMD parts).

The frequencys that I listen to are 145.500 (FM) 145.700 (USB) and 50.500 (USB) and some HF freq
